It is unfortunate that a large majority of people don’t even reach the suggested 30 minutes daily of moderate activity and 2 to 3 days weekly of strength training. We need to move more. Great for Your Brain

When we think of the benefits of exercise we normally focus on the physical benefits but there are actually quite a few mental benefits as well. Regular exercise has been linked to have an improved memory and boosts brainpower. The same endorphins being released when you are getting sweaty at the gym that make you feel better also can be known to help you concentrate more and work that brain of yours. Exercise can help create new brain cells and improve overall brain performance.

Helps in Weight Loss

Along with diet, exercise is extremely important in losing weight and preventing obesity. If you want to lose weight, the simplest and easiest way to look at it is to consume less calories than your body burns or expends. Regular exercise can be an extremely helpful tool in your weight loss journey. The benefits of weight loss are immeasurable and include increased self confidence, and self-esteem.

Improve Mood

Exercising regularly can improve your mood and reduce feelings of anxiety and depression. Exercise releases endorphins to produce happy and positive feelings and reduce the feeling of pain and negativity. The great thing is that your mood can benefit from exercise no matter how intense your activity is. A brisk walk around the block or your favourite workout class can help you turn that frown upside down.

Improve Skin and Hair Health

Stop spending thousands on the latest skin and hair fads when you can improve your skin and hair health with some exercise. Regular exercise has been known to help improve blood circulation to your scalp, hair follicles and skin surface. Sweating during your workout helps remove toxins out of your body and gives you that healthy shine and glow that we all love.

Important for your Muscles and Bones

Physical activity helps you build muscles and strong bones. We all have only one body and we have to take care of it the best we can. Exercise is the best tool to take care of the structure of your body. Strength training two to three times a week is important to keep you strong and your body in the best shape possible. It is a fact that as you get older the body naturally decreases muscle mass and bone density. Exercise can help prevent osteoporosis and reverse the signs of aging.

There are too many benefits of exercise and working out to name but the pros outweigh the cons and you should try to incorporate more daily activity into your life. With all our sedentary lifestyles we need to make a conscious effort to get moving. Find something you enjoy and you will feel fantastic.
